Cheap Bostitch SB-1842BN 18-Gauge Brad Nailer Review
Precision, power, light weight, compact, rugged, inexpensive. Available from the Front Range. I tried to drive 1-5/8 "brads on the solid red oak without any problems. Nails is clear and straight, without jamming.
It is a model well-oiled. I prefer more oil models less since I believe that the model performance oils are more consistent.
I chose the SB "1-5/8-1842BN model over the 2" SB-1850BN because I think it has more precision and greater range than the SB-1850BN. I1-5/8 think is best for fine furniture. The 2 "may be a bit more work for the door molding. However, I think 1-5/8 "is adequate for holding the door molding over 1 / 2" drywall. I would use 16-finish nailer gauge for anything over 1-5/8 ".
The minor negative for the Nailer appears to be the use of plastic for the trigger button. I wish SB trigger metal used and saved manufacturing costs elsewhere.
